- Section 1 is self-evident. This section
should contain the information abut the chief applicant who is
taking the responsibility for the meeting, title for the proposal
and a brief summary of not more than 300 words.
- Section 2 constitutes the main body of the
application. It consists of 3 parts (2a, 2b, and 2c), which should
not exceed 4000 words in total, excluding literature references. 2
a should give a clear and convincing overview of the planned
research, its significance and relevance. 2 b should highlight the
innovative, integrative aspects of the proposed research. Finally,
2 c should describe the objectives of the proposed Expert Meeting.
As mentioned above the ideal outcome is in fact the emergence of a
joint research initiative – and the applicant should mention which
funding options are being considered; the timetable for a potential
application emerging from the Expert Meeting; expected submission
date, etc. Finally, it is also possible that the Expert Meeting
will lead to the production of an edited volume (or some other
tangible product). In these cases, the application is expected to
provide detailed information about how the group wishes to proceed
about this matter and their general planning.
- Section 2d should contain the details of
all the participants.
- Section 2f should provide the names and
details of 3 potential referees who can give an informed evaluation
of the application.
- Section 3 should provide the proposed
venue for the Expert Meeting.
- Section 3a should provide the estimated
travel costs, accommodation and food costs for each participant,
etc.
- Sections 4 & 5 should be filled out
separately for each participant.
