  • Section 1 is self-evident. This section should contain the information abut the chief applicant who is taking the responsibility for the meeting, title for the proposal and a brief summary of not more than 300 words.
  • Section 2 constitutes the main body of the application. It consists of 3 parts (2a, 2b, and 2c), which should not exceed 4000 words in total, excluding literature references. 2 a should give a clear and convincing overview of the planned research, its significance and relevance. 2 b should highlight the innovative, integrative aspects of the proposed research. Finally, 2 c should describe the objectives of the proposed Expert Meeting. As mentioned above the ideal outcome is in fact the emergence of a joint research initiative – and the applicant should mention which funding options are being considered; the timetable for a potential application emerging from the Expert Meeting; expected submission date, etc. Finally, it is also possible that the Expert Meeting will lead to the production of an edited volume (or some other tangible product). In these cases, the application is expected to provide detailed information about how the group wishes to proceed about this matter and their general planning.
  • Section 2d should contain the details of all the participants.
  • Section 2f should provide the names and details of 3 potential referees who can give an informed evaluation of the application.
  • Section 3 should provide the proposed venue for the Expert Meeting.
  • Section 3a should provide the estimated travel costs, accommodation and food costs for each participant, etc.
  • Sections 4 & 5 should be filled out separately for each participant.
