Application
Procedures
The call for applications to the annual TKC will be posted by
the members of the
Steering Committee to social cognition researchers in their
country in March of that year via email. Details of the conference
and the application due date will also be posted on this website.
The due date for applications to the annual TKC will be the end
of March.
Please note that you do not need
to be an existing member of ESCON to attend the
conference.
Application forms are to be sent to the Steering Committee
member of the applicant’s member country, and applicants will be
notified of the outcome by their Steering Committee member at the
beginning of May. See the Transfer of Knowledge -
Application Form.
Each Steering Committee member is responsible for the initial
selection of participants from their country. Selection is based on
a number of criteria, which may vary between participating
countries. However, the three most general criteria are:
(a) That the contribution clearly falls into the area of social
cognition, and
(b) The quality of the research abstract submitted, and
(c) That junior researchers are in their second year of research
or above.
Steering Committee members then submit their accepted
applications to the Management Committee (Program Chair and
Coordinator). The final list of confirmed participants will then be
passed to the local organizing committee.
PhD researchers are invited to also submit their application for
the
Best Paper Award. Invitations will be based on the 800 word
abstract in the main conference application, and will request a
full paper to be submitted for judging. This award will be decided
on by members of the Steering Committee and will be presented at
the conference dinner.
Note re application form: Please name the file of
your application form with your last name followed by member
country (last name_country abbreviation.doc).
